Vector Conflict by Digyourowngrave Games

Today I am reviewing the 3D shooter game called Vector Conflict: The Siege by Digyourowngrave Games. You start out in a space bunker as a defender/shooter. You use the mouse to move your cross hairs around the area as the enemies come in. There are 4 ways the enemies can come from, you use the A and D key to navigate through the ways they come through and the W key to do a 180 degree turn. You will also have a radar that shows what color the enemies are (which type) and how close they are to you. The game explains what exactly you are and how the enemies are coming from space trying to defend the bunker you reside in. Through the game there are many different types of enemies that come through space trying to destroy you, each having their own unique style. For example one of the first enemies you encounter is the purple enemy, all the purple enemies try to do is run into you but cause little damage. The next enemy you will encounter is a small tank-like enemy, you will acquire a few rockets which easily destroy this tank-like enemy in one hit. A few more enemies you encounter will fly at you and try to crash into you, stronger tank-like enemies, plane like enemies that shoot at you while flying around, and the orange boss, which flies around slowly but has a lot of health. Later in the game you will acquire an electric type shock weapon which stuns all the ground units within range, disabling them for a few moments, another item you will acquire is the nuke, which is extremely powerful in that it destroys all the enemies around you in your range. After each round you acquire resources from surviving time and from destroying the different enemies. With the resources you acquire you can purchase upgrades, a few of these upgrades include upgrading your primary weapon, rocket supply, nuke supply, electric shock supply, resource gaining speed, shield regeneration, and a few more. The game has 3 difficulty settings to it them being easy, medium, and hard. I myself have only tried easy and it is still quite difficult. The game does not have that many rounds to it but it includes another game type called survival in which you try and survive as long as you can. The game also includes a few achievements achieved through different parts of the game. When you beat the game you will be given a high-score in which you can submit to digyourowngrave games website. The game is extremely fun and addicting.

Kerixep by Fast Games

Today I am reviewing the simple yet fun puzzle game called Kerixep by Fast Games. This game does not have much to it but it is quite fun. Kerixep is a puzzle game. The game loads of quickly and instantly throws you into it. There aren't any instructions (That I know of) but the basic instructions are you have to move your mouse over your starting piece and move your mouse to go over the unselected blocks to try and select all the other blocks without selecting or going over a block more then once. As you move your mouse over the starting piece it changes colors, along with the other pieces as you move over them. There is not much of a strategy to the game because of it being so straight forward. As you move along in the game the levels get more difficult. Another interesting part of the game is each "level" occasionally has different colors and a few have special effects added to them. The game is insanely simple but has a sense of difficulty to it. This game will keep you glued to your computer until you have beaten all of the levels.

Hex Empire

The game I am reviewing today is called Hex Empire, sponsored by Minijuegos. The game is a basic strategy game, easy to get the hang of, but does have a sense of difficulty to it. The game starts up with a randomized map supposedly created by complicated arithmetic equations. There are 4 different countries/states you can choose from to start your conquest of world domination. When you find the map to your liking and the country to your liking you start the game. You start with a few units at your home base and move through the map by clicking on your units then clicking in the given area to move them. The unit display is as followed, Number of people in the unit you have selected over the moral number/bonus. These bonuses can be achieved by moving to certain spots on the map. For example, if you move onto a city (Regular dot) you get a people bonus which increases the number of people you have on the unit you moved to the city, another bonus is a moral bonus which can be achieved by either capturing a port (port-like icon) or by using the "Give a speech" bonus which boosts the moral of all units around the map by a great amount, but can only be used once. As you move through the map you face the computer players which can be put on different difficulties depending on your skill level. When you move your unit onto another players units then they will "fight" and the computer will decide who wins, depending on number of units and moral and whoever wins will come out alive. The option of the game is to conquer the rest of the world. Another strategy to this is being able to have a peace pact with another computer, which usually only happens towards the beginning of the game as long as you have not came in conflict with that player. To defeat another country/state you must move your units to their main state and defeat the units standing on the main state to achieve victory and take control of all the ports and cities of the country/state you have conquered. The only downside to the game is the occasional small glitch and worst of all, there is no multi player. A game like this is just begging for online multi player. Although the game does not have multi player it is most definitely addicting, strategic and fun.

Miami Shark

Today I came across an excellent game, this game is called Miami Shark made by Newgrounds. This game is so much fun but at the same time it has a sense of difficulty to it. The game is easy to get the hang of as you start out as a shark, and of course we all know sharks just destroy boats and eat people (Wink wink). You start swimming along as a shark down 100 miles of coastline near many boats. The object of the game is to get the most points of course, but you obtain points by eating people, eating ducks, eating basically anything you see. This game is extremely fast paced and also quite addicting. There are many things to eat while your swimming along the coastline, including all kinds of boats, kids tubing, people swimming, scuba divers, and occasionally the normal helicopter or government plane. You gain a great amount of points by jumping out of the water and biting onto a flying craft and even more of a bonus if the explosion of the aircraft/helicopter takes out boats near it. This game will drag you in and you wont be able to stop until you get the number 1 hi-score.

Frontier

I have recently come across an amazing game called Frontier. Frontier is made by Armor Games. Frontier is a strategy based game that includes money, war, and starting a war against another town. When you first start Frontier you are a lonely traveling merchant, set on making money. As you start the game you start in a town, each town containing resources. To travel you have to go to the Travel tab, and here is where the fun starts, the prices of resources are almost all different in each town, which is how you merchant these "resources" and bring in an income. As you travel between towns you make a journey towards the next town, which displays a side-scrolling type animation, while traveling you will encounter boxes (Usually containing items or money), the enforcers (Police force), helpless people (You get the choice to help him or rob him), buccaneers (Bad guys), and the harmless merchantmen. Along with all the resources you get, there are some that are illegal of course, these items usually come with a bigger profit then normal, the only problem with this is the enforcers will be after you, when you come to an enforcer(s) you will either have the option to battle (fight), flee, or have him search you (in which they will take away your illegal goods, if you have them of course). When you come across a party of buccaneers they will show no mercy, either you can fight them, flee (Usually unsuccessful), or surrender (in which you give up some of your precious resources, usually making you lose money). When you come across a group of merchantmen they are harmless, and usually you will just pass them by. And of course, when you arrive outside of the town, you can choose to take the town for your own (Battle the town), in which requires a bigger crew. Through the game you will go through different towns each containing people who you can hire to work for you, as long as you have a vehicle that can sustain another person. Another tricky part about the game is joining a guild (Optional), you can either join the Enforcers or the buccaneers, when you join the enforcers you will no longer have to worry about the illegal goods problem, but the buccaneers will be heavy on your tail, and if you join the buccaneer guild, you wont have to worry about the buccaneers but the enforcers will be on your tail even more. As you acquire money you can purchase upgraded vehicles, weapons, armor, and people. This game takes a bit to get the hang of, but once you do, you wont be able to stop until you are the richest man in all of Frontier.

Cyclo Maniacs

Cyclo Maniacs is a crazy, wild, but fun Flash cycling/racing game made by Kongregate. Cyclo Maniacs has many un-lockable parts to it, including many different characters, achievements, and of course, un-lockable levels as well. There are as many as 20 un-lockable characters, 5 different locations (Each including 5 levels), and a total of 70 achievements. Completing the achievements unlocks various things including stages, levels and characters. You start the game out as a simple robot character named Robot Jam. The game has a great control system including movement and especially the front and black flips. The races usually have 9 other computer players and yourself of course. All of the races are fast-paced and intense. The game suprisingly does not have a multiplayer function to it but it is definitely begging for it in this style of game. Once you start playing the game, unlocking achievements and characters, you can't stop.
